When courage, genius, and generosity hold hands, all things are possible. –UnknownIn 2009, I was first diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was very aggressive. My daughter was six and my son was only 9 mths old. Through chemo, surgery and radiation, I barely made it through. All while dealing with a failing marriage where there was much abuse. The risk was very high of recurrence within the next five years. I made it to 5 and a half.
In mid August this year, I was on my way to visit with friends, when I had this fit of uncontrolled coughing and then choking. Drops of blood hit the floor at my feet.
I was rushed to the hospital, and they found that I had pleural effusion. A build up of fluid so much so, that my entire left lung was collapsed from it.
I was given a lung catheter to learn how to drain, and was told on my way out, that I had stage 4.I drain my own lung every 4 days.
From there I was rushed into surgery to have a port put in and then straight to chemotherapy. I have completed 3 of the 6 prescribed.I also take over 20 prescriptions daily.
